Trudy Balderson web A District Nurse Specialist Practitioner from Airedale Hospital has been awarded the title of ‘Queen’s Nurse’ in recognition of her high standards of practice and patient care.
Trudy Balderson, from Cracoe, who is Head of Community Services at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust and based at Skipton Hospital, is to receive her accolade in October.
She will then join the ranks of one of only 14 Queen’s Nurses in North Yorkshire.

oakland street.killingA stepson has been arrested on suspicion of murder after his stepfather was stabbed to death this morning.
Police and ambulance were called to Oakland Street, Silsden, after Phillip Slater, 73, was knifed in his terraced home.
His stepson Alistair Throup, 47, is in custody and will be interviewed about the killing.
