penistone hill

A body found in a burnt out car at an Oxenhope beauty spot believed to be a male in his 50s.
Police are not treating the man’s death as suspicious, though enquiries are ongoing.

The deceased was discovered at the scene of a car fire at Penistone Hill Country Park on Monday morning.

The burning car was spotted by a member of the public and officers were called to the scene at 7.28am.

Police cordoned off the area to undertake day investiagtions into the circumstances of the tragedy.
Anyone with information which may assist this inquiry is asked to contact police on 101, quoting log reference 246 of 9 October.
