north yorkshire policeFollowing the fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the A682 at Nappa, between Gisburn & Long Preston at 7pm on Tuesday 21 June 2016, police are now in a position to name the motorcyclist who died. He was Peter Johnston, 44 years, an engineer from the Manchester area.

Mr Johnston was the second of two motorcyclists travelling towards Long Preston when he came off the road to the left hand side, colliding with a crash barrier and trees, near to Hayber Farm.

Thomas WallacePolice are now in a position to identify the motorcyclist who sadly died on the A682 near Long Preston on Saturday 23 April 2016.

He is 47-year-old Thomas Wallace from Preston, Lancs.

Mr Wallace was riding his white Suzuki GSR 750 on the A682 near the juction of the A65 towards Long Preston, when he was involved in a collision with a grey Toyota Yaris. He sadly died at the scene.

cannabisPolice in the Craven area are asking residents to be alert to the signs of cannabis production in their neighbourhood after officers have dealt with seven cannabis grows in the Skipton area over the past year.

Officers are also concerned about the dangers posed by the illegal re-routing of electricity supplies, which is a common occurrence during cannabis cultivation.

chemPolice are appealing for help to identify the man in captured in a CCTV image, in relation to a change scam at a pharmacy in Skipton on 9 March 2016.

The man entered the chemist's on Caroline Square at around 4.30pm and paid for a low value item with a £20 note. He then confused the shop assistant into giving him substantially more than the actual change he was due.

Skipton police are appealing for information to help identify a man who sexually assaulted a woman in a business premises in the town.

The man entered the premises at around 10am on Monday 21 March 2016 and asked the victim if she spoke Spanish. He then sexually assaulted her through her clothing before leaving the premises.

AIREVILLE SCHOOL theftPolice wish to speak to the man in this CCTV image in connection with a theft from a vehicle in Skipton.

On 28 January 2016, between the hours of 5pm and 7.30pm, a Honda FR-V VTEC was broken into whilst it was parked in the car park at Aireville School, Gargrave Road, Skipton.

The items stolen include a briefcase, ladies vari-focal glasses, a hat, scarf, gloves and an umbrella.

north yorkshire policePolice in Settle are appealing for information after an elderly woman was robbed this morning at around 9.15am.

The OAP was walking in Kirkgate when she was knocked to the ground and her handbag was stolen.

The suspect is described as a man aged in his 40s, around 5ft 4in to 5ft 5in tall, he had dark stubble and was wearing a brown hooded coat or top.
