A persistent beggar has been handed a five year criminal behaviour order. Dean Begley, 32, a regularly face around Keighley, has been banned from asking for money, booze and cigarettes until 22 July 2023.
The widow of a joiner who died of asbestos-related cancer at the end of last year has joined with legal experts to appeal to his former workmates from three employers in the 1960s and 1970s to come forward and help her gain justice regarding his death.
Father-of-one John Bryden, who lived in Keighley, died aged 73 in November, last year, of mesothelioma – the cancer of the lining of the lung commonly associated with exposure to asbestos materials – just over a year after he first developed symptoms including chest pains and breathlessness.

A motorist who crashed an ambulance into Kildwick Level Crossing has been charged with dangerous driving. The 41-year-old, from Halifax, is also charged with driving whilst disqualified, failing to stop for police, failing to provide a specimen for analysis, obstructing a railway and having no insurance.

The Butterfly Tea Rooms evokes fond memories of days gone by displaying specially commissioned wall art which looks like a tea room shop front, china cups and saucers and memorabilia, including a life-size red telephone box, 1930’s phone and music from the past.
