A motorcyclist who led police on a high-speed chase at speeds of up to 125mph has been handed a 10 month suspended prison sentence and banned from the roads for 12 months. William Daniel Wark, 24, was recorded riding at 111mph on the A65 between Clapham and Ingleton.
A paedophile who preyed on three young girls has been jailed for almost 13 years. Pervert Richard Halliday, 36, of Wrose Road, in Shipley, was sentenced to 12 years and nine months at Bradford Crown Court for the offences which occurred between 2013 and 2017.
A drunk driver who attempted to evade traffic cops during a 24-minute pursuit in the Harrogate district has been jailed for a string of motoring offences. Christopher Lawrence Newton, 22, of South Street, Scarborough, appeared at York Crown Court today where he was sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment after earlier pleading guilty to dangerous driving, drink driving, driving without a licence, driving without insurance and aggravated vehicle taking.

A driver who gave his wheelchair bound mate a lift by towing him has been banned from the road. Michael Ward, 20, was caught on CCTV pulling pal William McPherson, 28, through a town centre. Ward, of Walworth Avenue, Harrogate, North Yorks, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving on Cheltenham Parade in Harrogate on 28 January 2017.
